I am writing this from Washington D.C. where we are gearing up for our CNN Town Hall TONIGHT at 7pm EST. There is a lot in this email but I promise if you read the whole thing it will be worth it!
There are now over 150 watch parties around the country – you can go here to join one near you. Imagine watching the Town Hall with a bunch of Yang Gang members; my favorite thing about this campaign is the people it attracts. It’s been a lot of fun seeing all of the friendships and connections generated over the past weeks.
This week we had our Humanity First rally in Boston that I’ve been calling the Boston Yang Party – over 1,000 people came out. It was a blast. And as usual the Boston press covered it.
We’ve got another rally coming up in Washington D.C. on Monday with over 2,200 people RSVPed! From there it’s on to Atlanta on Thursday and then Los Angeles on Monday. Rallies may be the most fun part of the campaign. The more people that come out the more people will catch on that we are the campaign to beat in 2020.
Our national press push continues to work. I was on Fox and Friends this Friday, and CNN, USA Today, and TMZ each had a story on our campaign. Shout out to our Press Secretary, Madalin Sammons, for doing such outstanding work. Maddie joined us from the Richard Ojeda campaign.
For anything we do on the campaign team, we are routinely outshone by our supporters’ creativity. There are thousands of memes that are hilarious and spread real information. There are even people who have made short films or created art about the campaign – like this promo video, a new Yang Gang anthem, and even Ronny Chieng did a bit on Jimmy Fallon.
That’s when this campaign really takes off – when you all make it your own.
Seeing memes and art and videos made about you and your ideas is not only fun – it’s inspiring. I have been getting stronger every day as you build us up and spread the word. Please do keep it up. The more you do, the stronger we get.
MOST IMPORTANTLY – Our CNN Town Hall tonight is a golden opportunity for our campaign to make some new friends. You can watch on any cable provider or stream live on CNN Go.
Here’s everything you need to know:
1. HELP US TREND
Use the hashtags #YangTownHall and #CNNTownHall all day. Start right now. Get your friends to join, especially those at watch parties. Do coordinated Tweet storms and let’s be a presence on the Internet all day.
2. POST PICTURES
Wherever you watch, make sure you post pictures and videos of you and/or your crowd to our hashtags. We’ll do our best to retweet them. Please send them to yang2020content@gmail.com to make it into a campaign video.
3. WELCOME NEW YANG GANG MEMBERS
At minimum, half a million people will be introduced to our campaign tonight…and you KNOW they’re gonna have questions. We made this easy for you – here’s a ton of content to share as we welcome our growing Yang Gang.
4. PREP FOR OUR POST-TOWN HALL MONEYBOMB
We’re going to post a head-turning fundraising number in the 24 hours after the Town Hall. Will need your help, hope you’re ready 🙂
